The founders of Kor Spera were a group of friends that had chosen to leave
the planet of Naboo as it came under more strict Imperial control. The
founding mayor, Renea, had resigned from her position as the mayor of the
city of New Deeja on Naboo and left for Corellia. When she had moved
to Corellia with her friend Khristen Lockslett, the two set up a company
known as The KhrisNea Company which became very successful. Sicarius Dominus and Breke also accompanied the two from New Deeja to Corellia.
During frequent trips to Coronet on business, Renea became acquainted
with Senator Garm Bel Ibis who knew of her by her reputation on Naboo. The
two spent many hours discussing the state of affairs in the galaxy and political
ideas in general. Renea believes the key to successful government lay somewhere
in the middle of the philosophies of the Empire and the Rebellion. She
believes that the people must have a voice, but that one leader must make
the decisions in the best interests of the majority.
Meanwhile several people that they had known from Naboo--including Dejah Thoris, Stormbringer Lightbearer, Dipligonai Phreet, and Andrew Harling--had begun seeking a new place to live after leaving Naboo. They
searched and could not find an established city to their liking. At the urging of Bel Ibis, Renea decided to petition the Corellian government to establish a new city. After much searching, a spot was decided on not far from the rustic town of Kor Vella. Using the profits and resources of The KhrisNea Company, the first buildings were constructed and placed.
During the initial building phase, several of the underground tunnels common to Corellia were discovered. In order to ensure the stability of the new city's buildings, these tunnels were collapsed to provide a more solid foundation for construction. While this created some uneven terrain, many of these areas were left as they were to preserve the uniqueness of the Corellian landscape.
On 3.4.2004 the city of Kor Spera was officially granted the status
of "outpost". Over time the city continued to prosper, gaining
reclassification as a village on 3.25.2004 and as a township
on 7.12.2004. Kor Spera was rezoned once more on 10.14.2004 as it was granted full city status. Kor Spera is now considered a metropolis by the Corellian government.
Kor Spera prides itself on its layout with well-organized residential
areas, thanks to the work of the City Planner, Khristen Lockslett Barezz. The militia, headed by Captain Sicarius Dominus, keeps the city safe. In addition to The KhrisNea Company, the city has thriving commerce with many great
businesses run by talented crafters. Kor Spera is a cultural and entertainment hotspot, home to several thriving cantinas and clubs.
